He's no Lady

With quite surprise I have "discovered" that Vivian, our Sulcata Tortoise is no longer the sweet dainty lady we thought she was. Miss Vivian as it turns out is really Mr. Vivian. I happened upon Mr. Vivian's Mr. Business today while in the backyard. Apparently during mating season males will seek an outlet for their sexuality. And not being a particularly picky male, he chose his outlet in the form of a large patch of tall grass and some avocado leaves. I didn't realize our Miss/Mr. Vivian wasn't very discerning when it comes to matters of the heart.

i made weston the cat his very own bed. although generous sounding, this project had totally selfish pursuits. weston insists on sleeping on my bed. sure, it is a big bed with lots of room, but what he really insists on is sleeping on me, while i'm in my bed. i find myself waking with not just "pin and needles" in my legs but more like roofing nails and hypodermic needles. i can't see how sleeping on my legs can be comfortable to a cat who insists on fresh water twice daily, requires a special, only available at a store that is never open, cat food, and is allergic to cats.

none the less weston has been using his bed! now if I could just get him to use it at night.
